S E R I E S : corners of our home i'll miss the most - our kitchen

This kitchen. It's the room that sold me on our LA home. So much light. So much storage space. And so much room for friends and family to gather around the island and enjoy each other's company at our parties and get-togethers. The finishes were designer selected by Andrew Lauren Interiors -- the natural stone countertops and full glass tile backsplash paired with the stark white cabinets make the room feel bright and airy, while providing the perfect canvas for the touches of natural wood and aqua colored accessories we brought in to style the space. I also made DIY roman shades above the sink, to tie in with our color scheme.

I love all the little dedicated areas in this space. Our little coffee nook definitely gets the most use -- the opposite corner is home to our KitchenAid mixer and every baking supply you could possibly need. I was super intentional when planning out our storage space (labeling each cabinet and drawer with sticky notes, and moving them around neurotically for a week), to ensure that each cabinet housed the most logical item you would need at that moment. It looked silly for a while but I'm so happy I did it, because we can now navigate one of our favorite spaces with ease while cooking or entertaining.
